The Municipality's Integration Services
The City of Kristinestad provides guidance and counselling services for everyone who has moved to Kristinestad from another country. Services are available in Swedish, Finnish, Ukrainian, Russian and English. Interpretation into the client's native language can be arranged when necessary.
The integration coordinators and individual guidance counsellor are available at the service desk, where several partners involved in integration services also provide appointments.
Integration Coordinator
The integration coordinator:
• supports and assists immigrants with official matters, for example with Kela, TE Services, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV), the Finnish Immigration Service and the Tax Administration
• provides guidance and counselling on matters related to living and everyday life in Finland
• conducts initial assessments for immigrants who are not entering the labour market
• prepares integration plans in cooperation with TE Services and, when necessary, the wellbeing services county.
The integration coordinator is also responsible for planning, developing and evaluating services that promote integration in cooperation with the municipality's different departments as well as other authorities and organisations.
Individual Guidance Counsellor
The individual guidance counsellor assists with various services that support everyday life. She helps, for example, with booking appointments for official matters or ordering a Kela taxi.
When necessary, she helps clients obtain the documents and attachments required by Kela. She can also provide support in cooperation between the home and the school or early childhood education.

SPRÅKKYLPY – Language Club
The language club gives you the opportunity to learn Finnish and Swedish at the same time.
The club is intended for you if you want to improve your language skills and gain new opportunities at work and in everyday life in Finland. The club is free of charge and is open to everyone who wants to learn both languages.
In the club, we learn languages in a clear and practical way through learning and doing things together. We meet at the Youth Centre and at Vänstugan Primula:
Youth Centre
We meet every other week from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the following dates:
8th and 22nd of September, 6th and 20th of October, 3rd and 17th of November, 1st and 15th of December.
Vänstugan Primula
We meet every other week from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the following dates:
1st, 15th and 29th of October, 12th and 26th of November and 10th of December.
